I want to use this "tool" to fully experience the beauty of Japan. 🌸 **2017.09** I first entered the world of Japanese... but only learned the basic hiragana and some simple conversations before giving up. **2017.10** I traveled to Tokyo and Osaka with my family for five days. **2024.03** I traveled alone to Tokyo for seven days. **2024.05** I met my Japanese teacher, Yuki, and once again explored the world of Japanese. **2024.06** I attended a concert of my favorite Japanese singer and sang along with her. **2025.04** I plan to apply for a working holiday in Japan to experience life there. After just a month, I bravely took my mom and sister on a five-day trip to Kyoto and Osaka. I felt a lot of pressure since I only knew the basic hiragana and some very simple travel phrases. Communicating while taking public transport, ordering food, and buying things at convenience stores was challenging... I wanted to express my difficulties but couldn't. That feeling is still clear to me now. I couldn’t relax and enjoy the trip, so when I returned home, I promised myself I would master Japanese! However, once I started my internship, I had no time to audit classes and didn’t know how to self-study. After entering the workforce, I felt like I was burying my passion for Japanese. I continued to watch dramas, anime, and listen to Japanese songs, but that was it. Until this year, I kept trying to live and work, but I felt unhappy. My medical job consumed most of my life, and I felt lost, unsure of what I was pursuing. Thankfully, as the pandemic eased and travel opened up, I recalled my dream of “traveling to Japan alone.” I wanted to see the sights, eat the food I love, and experience the world I was curious about! In March of this year, I made it happen! I spent a week living alone in Tokyo, feeling very happy. During that time, I constantly reflected and told myself that a life with choices is what I wanted. Yet, the Japanese beginner I was years ago hadn’t grown up; it was me, shaped by years of experience. So, after returning home, I resolved not to let my lack of Japanese hold me back. On this platform, I met Yuki-sensei, who has guided me step by step to become who I am today, showing me that the world of Japanese is truly fascinating. I haven’t given up; I keep evolving, and looking back, I realize how far I’ve come! Yuki-sensei once told me, “Master Japanese and become a teacher! I’ll help you!” I’ve kept those words in my heart, but I hesitated, not wanting to disappoint her expectations. However... what a small world it is! The other teacher who led me to become a teacher is Candice, who I started learning English with five years ago. It’s such a magical connection! I feel incredibly grateful for everything—a fresh start and a unique transformation.
